May 14, 2013: Hughes Senior Daron Bowling Signs with Morehouse College!

On Monday, May 13, 2013, Hughes senior baseball player Daron Bowling signed his athletic scholarship to play college baseball at Morehouse College. Congrats to Daron, his family and the Big Red family on this remarkable accomplishment! We all wish you the best as you take your talents to the next level! Go Big Red!

March 11, 2013: Hughes Boys Varsity Basketball Team District Champs!!

On Friday, March 8, 2013, the Hughes Boys Basketball team clinched the District Title with a 96-86 win over Trotwood Madison. The Big Red now move on to the Regional Semi-Finals Thursday night at Kettering Arena. There, the Big Red will face Dayton Dunbar. Game tips at 8:00pm. Tickets are available in the main office at Hughes for $6.00. Come out and join the BIG RED this Thursday night!

March 5, 2013: Hughes Boys Varsity Basketball Team Win Sectional Title!

On Saturday, March 2, 2013 the Hughes Boys Varsity Basketball Team defeated Aiken High School to clinch the Division II Sectional Title. The Big Red defeated Aiken 78-64 and now advance to the District finals against Trotwood-Madison Friday, March 8, 2013 at the University of Dayton Arena. Tickets are available this week in the main office at Hughes for $6.00. Get your tickets today and come out and support the Big Red this Friday!

February 20, 2013: Hughes Boys Varsity Basketball Team Win CMAC League Title!

On Friday, February 15, 2013, the Hughes Big Red claimed the CMAC League co-championship with a win over Withrow 72 - 54! This is the first time Hughes has won the league championship since 1994! Congrats to all the coaches and players on this remarkable accomplishment! GO BIG RED!

February 19, 2013: Hughes AD Jolinda Miller Wins the OHSAA Ethics & Integrity Award!

Congrats to Hughes Athletic Director Jolinda Miller on winning the OHSAA Ethics & Integrity Award for 3013. The OHSAA Ethics and Integrity Award is presented annually to an Ohioan who has displayed outstanding traits of ethical behavior and integrity in the performance of duties and responsibilities and is a role model for others. The award is the highest honor the OHSAA SEI Committee may bestow. Past winners include John Glenn, Archie Griffin and Clark Kellogg.
